We camped at Bodcau during New Years and had a nice little paddle from Tom Merrill to the Twin Bridges. Unfortunately, we discovered that our take-out area had become someone's dumping ground. Not only was there household debris, but also a large dead hog. Within a week, the trash pile had tripled. David did a drive by and took this photo. I posted the photo on the Bodcau WMA North La Facebook page to bring awareness to the problem. As of today, there is 63 reactions and 54 comments to the photo. The most important comment was from a Sheriff's crew leader who offered to clean up the mess. Within a day of him seeing the post, he had a crew move the debris to the highway so the parish could pick it up! Also, we had a comment that the offender had been located and arrested! So while social media can spread a lot of misinformation and vitriol, it can also help reach those who can help resolve a problem. Kudos to the local public servants
who saw the post and stepped up to make a difference!
